  • Avoid flashing, blinking, background music, or other distracting features. If they must absolutely be included, make sure that nothing flashes more than thrice in a single second. Add warnings and buttons that allow users to pause, mute, or disable such elements.
  • Use headings, hyperlinks, and adequate spacing. Some disabilities make navigating huge blocks of texts difficult. Use headings in larger and bold font to make the divide between elements clear, or use hyperlinks so the user can go directly to the page or part they are interested in. Use enough spacing between the lines so it’s easier to separate each line of text.
  • Adjustable time. If your website has a time limit for security reasons, allow the user to extend the time limit instead of automatically refreshing the site.
  • Include assistance for forms. Label all input fields clearly and make it clear if a specific format is required. If errors are detected in user input, include suggestions or examples on how to correctly fill out the field.

This may already seem like a long list, but it still doesn’t cover everything you need to make your website 100% accessible.
