Any word from Mr. Bob Arum?

iCrowd Newswire - Jul 1, 2020

He must speak up.

The boxing world continues to wait for a firm word on the status of the anticipated triple world bantamweight unification championship between the sensational Japanese Naoya Inoue and hard-hitting Filipino world warrior John Riel Casimero.

The big bout, originally scheduled in Las Vegas for April 25, had been postponed.

Veteran promoter Bob Arum, however, said he would pursue to stage it either in September or October.

————————-Casimero, who was already in the Las Vegas area, where he was trapped by the coronavirus pandemic, had decided to stay put with his team.

Inoue remained in his hometown in Japan, but Arum assured handlers have vowed to bring over the Japanese superstar to the United States for the unification championship.

Anyway, with no clear signal from Arum on what direction the Inoue-Casimero fight would take, Team Casimero has started to disintegrate.

Trainer Nonoy Neri was reported well on his way back home to the Philippines, with partners including the famous conditioning guru, Memo Heredia, indefinitely stranded in a training facility in Las Vegas.

————————-Casimero himself was reported to be packing up, with homecoming rites and protocols being readied in Ormoc City.

There’s an urgent need for clear direction from Mr. Arum who, as things stand, appeared to have gone on strict isolation.

As promoter, it’s imperative that he provide order and direction now that one involved party has started to fall apart.

————————-So far, no word from Sean Gibbons, president of MP (Manny Pacquiao) Promotions handling Casimero.

No word either from Team Inoue in Japan.

It’s a hot spot Mr. Arum has been caught in.

But like it or not, he must say something clear in this moment of thick uncertainty.

Stammering, pardon, can’t be the name of the game.
