Piglady is a story inspired by true events that have happened in several places around the world – In short, Piglady is about a serial killer who feeds her victims to pigs… But for the most part, this movie project is work of fiction. The story revolves around a group of friends who travel to Southern Oregon for a Christmas vacation. Along the way they hear of a local rumor about an anti-social woman who allegedly murders people and feeds her victims to pigs. The macho curiosity and overconfidence of the male protagonists turns what is supposed to be a fun Christmas vacation into a fatal holiday.
Where are we in production?
We are approximately halfway finished with initial shooting. Filmed on location, in Rogue River, Oregon, we faced many challenges. The weather being one of the most challenging obstacles. The cast and crew had to endure bitter cold nights on limited sleep, freezing temperatures, rain, and snow. Ultimately, this is why we decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign – to allow us to go back and finish what we started and help us gain momentum to make this project as successful as possible.
What your support means and what will it do?
Your support will go toward finishing the final shoot in Oregon, as well as completing a few scenes taking place in Southern California. Your support will also give us more flexibility with post-production. There are many aspects that go into making a good film great, such as hiring a quality music composer for the score, sound design, editing, professional color grading, VFX, and many other details that we have discovered along the way.
The campaign is structured in a way to offer enough budget to cover final production, post-production as well as the cost of producing the reward perks.
As an added incentive and “thank you” to anyone who donates $10 or more, they will receive digital access to our first short film, Son of a Preacher. SOP is a crime drama short film that has not officially been released yet and is currently pending acceptance into film festivals nationally and internationally.
No pigs were or will be harmed while making this movie.
We have an excellent pig handler with award winning pigs. They are trained to almost do whatever he asks. We love the pigs and they all have personalities of their own, it has been awesome working with them. Maybe we can dip into the piggy bank and get them some happy little piggy treats too!
Tell me it is CGI/VFX?
Yes, this will be a VFX intensive movie, even though we have access to real pigs, we can’t literally allow our cast be eaten alive! So a portion of the budget will go toward tightening up the special FX with quality and professional VFX. Our VFX supervisor is astounding at what he does and many of the VFX scenes have already filmed. We want quality and we will not compromise on this. Any additional budget past our goal will ensure an astounding and more polished final product.
What about Special FX and the props?
We had several custom props created by our friends over at Gorepatch, you will see a few in the promo video :) These props will be ours to keep, (unless we release them as a top tier perk…) The other rental props are available to us anytime. Interesting fact for all you American Horror Story fans, you may recognize certain props from a previous season of American Horror Story! Hint. Its the season with pigs ;)
Now what?
As it stands, we almost have a good movie, but we want to make this a great movie. That’s why we need your help, any donation or pledge on any level is sincerely appreciated and will help bring this American Dream alive!
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
The Preacher Boys

There are several risks and challenges associated with this project and filming in Southern Oregon, one being the weather. No one can control the weather and we have learned that the hard way. They have a saying in Southern Oregon: “If you don’t like the weather just wait five minutes.” We found this to be true, with all of the expensive equipment that our crew either owns or rented – we worked around these bumps to the best of our ability and in many creative ways, such as umbrellas being taped to c-stands to provide protection from the rain. We estimate that we only need one more thorough shooting on location to wrap up. Many of the remaining shots are in doors but there are some outside shots that need to be redone for continuity reasons. For example, it was raining in one shot, then no rain, and then snowing in the next. The drone footage still needs to be filmed since we can’t operate a drone in the rain, the only drone footage that we were able to shoot was after the snow. After we wrap up in Oregon we will only have a few more days of shooting in SoCal – where the weather is much more consistent and shooting conditions allow for production to stick to tighter schedule. Here is a short breakdown of the budget. $5K Prop construction / rentals (already completed except for re-renting certain props) $10K – Camera/Lighting / Lens rentals/ Cast / Crew $10K – Post Production (VFX/Sound Mixing/Music Composing/Editing/Color Correction) Once the Kickstarter goal of $20K is surpassed, a new “stretch goal” will be set. The additional funding will go towards some serious VFX overhauling and any additional shooting that will make the project even better. Thank you in advance for your support, this passion project cannot be what we envision without your dedicated support. Your contributions will enable us to take risks that few have ever imagined much less embarked on undertaking!
