A collection of spore prints made from mushrooms foraged from my family’s homestead in Weidman, MI; Sept-Nov 2019.
My goal with this project is to:
A spore print is the collected deposit obtained by allowing spores of a fungal fruit body to fall onto a surface underneath. It is an important diagnostic character in most handbooks for identifying mushrooms. A spore print is made by placing the spore-producing surface down onto paper, covering the fungus and paper with some sort of cup/vessel/bowl and then allowing to print for 6-48 hours.
Below you can see examples of each category. I will be posting additional examples each day for the length of my campaign on my Instagram page @shroomlandia_sporeprints. This will allow backers to choose the spore print that calls to them, the one they simply cannot live without! Examples of the framed prints can be seen at the end of my video.
I am overflowing with gratitude for those who have followed me along this journey and encouraged me to pursue this calling.
A very big thank you to Christian Driessnack of ChristianKurtMultimedia for the wonderful campaign video!
I am very confident in the success of my project, and I encourage you to take a look at my budget to see how reward pledge amounts are broken down,
