Thermal protection for any kind of 3d printer. Nowadays, printers work twenty-four hours straight without our supervision. This can sometimes cause a fire.
Many of us have 3D printers. Printing process often takes a very long time. And of course, we cannot constantly monitor the printing process. It is like leaving home when your iron is still On. Nothing bad can happen however, probability of fire break-out is very high. People sometimes install fire extinguishers for safety but what, if we can exclude possible hazard and you can sleep with a peaceful mind? My project in simple terms is a ‘whatchdog’ for any printer. This device does not depend on printer’s electronics; it works independently. The only thing you need to do is to install sensors on the hotend and on a desk. Printer power comes through the device. In case of hazard, the power of the entire printer is turned off. The device can also turn off the printer, when printing is complete. It is important that the shutdown actuates, when the hotend is cooled down to the setpoint temperature only. This allows to avoid clogging of the nozzle.
