This project is ran by a young group of filmmakers based in Southampton. We are creating a 15 minute short action film based around a family tragedy. The synopsis is:
Set in the present day (2018) in the tranquil country of mid wales, locates a world renowned rally stage ‘Sweet Lamb.’ Twins Dylan and Carys Hughes witness their father (Tim) in a disastrous accident at a previous rally competition, leaving him in a coma. They find themselves in a struggle to overcome the tragedy, and soon decide to enter themselves in the upcoming ‘Sweet Lamb’ rally. They go behind their mother’s back in hope to pursue their father’s dream and recruit his co-driver Dave in order to help them train. The plan soon backfires, as their mother (Sue) finds out from Dave accidentally and is distraught about the risk they’re taking, however the twins continue with their plan and compete at the rally.
Team Ambitions
Glass Beach Productions is a team of experienced and committed students, eager to commence in their largest production to date. The team is looking to construct a 15-minuite short film that will present each member at the best of their abilities to produce a film they can all be proud of.
We are hugely grateful for any attention towards our production. Every single like, share or post could motivate backers to our campaign and spread the word about our project to help us reach our funding goal.
Thank you very much for looking into our production and being a part of the process to create ‘Sweet Lamb. The whole crew is overwhelmed with excited to commence production.
The bulk of the risks we will have to take into consideration will come from the fact we are filming around fast paced moving vehicles. To overcome these the budget should permit us to have industry professionals on site to ensure maximum safety of crew, cast and equipment at all times. We have spent the last few months familiarising ourselves with the sport through witnessing a rally event first hand and speaking to multiple people involved in the sport to ensure we have as much information as possible going into shooting days. Part of our budget will ensure that we have access to a high spec industry standard rally car and professional stunt driver throughout the shoot so that everything runs smoothly and adheres to safety guidelines. There are many challenges we have had to take into account with regards to pre-production and post production. These include the logistics of getting to the location, where we plan on taking a mini bus that will provide for the crew, cast and equipment. The environment we are shooting in will be an unpredictable climate, so we will prepare for all situations and provide support for actors and crew at all times throughout the shoot. The budget should allow for catering of crew and cast as well as accommodation. We will be shooting over long periods of time and late hours, so we shall make sure that the crew is communicating well and motivating each other to get the best performance out of themselves and the people around them. Finally, we must take into consideration how we represent the traumatic events that are displayed in the production. We will make sure that we take a empathetic viewpoint backed by thorough research to make sure we respect the representations shown on screen.
