In Arch: Cradle of War, you are a very powerful archmage known as Architect, and using your cunning you will have to overcome your rival in an encounter in equal circumstances at the expense of the civilizations of the World of Geolia to summon the avatars of the strength, wisdom and justice.
Arch: Cradle of War is a card duel game between two players in which you don’t win by having the best or most expensive cards. Each game begins with a drafting phase, so the cards at your disposal will be different in each game. Arch takes our favorite card game mechanics and mix them into a new game concept.
The game is played combining two Civilization Decks in one drafting pile. Each of those decks contains 27 cards: 15 minions, 7 spells, and 5 artifacts.
The basic game contains two civilizations, the Woodborn, who are aligned to nature. In their ranks you’ll find elves, treants, dinosaurs and other beasts. And the Reckless, who are more akin to fire and war. Among its ranks are bandits, hogboons, orcs and wyrms.
There are 3 Expansion Civilizations Decks that you can buy additionally in this kickstarter.
The Unearthed are the civilization of undeads. These are related to death and destruction. In their ranks you will find skeletons, zombies, ghouls, specters and other horrors.
The Enlightened is the civilization of light and order. Among its ranks are soldiers, knights, fairies, golems, and other creatures.
The Abyssal civilization is composed of creatures form the deep of the abyss, such as krakens, crabs, horrors, and other sea creatures.
The goal of Arch: Cradle of War, is to build Archs and summon three powerful avatars. You should summon your three Avatars before your rival does to win the game.
The game is divided into two phases, draft and combat. After the setup, the game begins with an Initial Draft phase, and then, the Conflict is where the winner is decided.
It’s been 2 years and about 6 versions of the game, since we started developing Arch: Cradle of War. Our intention is to create a different and innovative card game that would change every time you play it, and you could build you game as you play.
We started playing role-playing games and trading card games in 1997 and since then we have been eager to improve the games we always loved, removing parts that we don’t find as fun and putting together mechanics we like from various games.
This is our first attempt at running a Kickstarter campaign for a card game, but we have both collaborated and created other successful campaigns for games (check our bio for more info). All the artwork and the design for the game is finished. The game has been tested for several months and it’s ready to meet your expectations. To mitigate risks we are using DrivethruCards service for printing and delivering the game. But since this is our first time delivering a physical game, there could be unexpected delays on delivery schedule. In the case we find an issue that will cause delays on the delivery of the game, we will communicate the issue on the updates section of this campaign.
