Our aim is simply to try to have less of a negative impact on our environment; to help us all do just that little bit more in the struggle to consume less, waste less and pollute less. We believe that every single person can make a difference, in fact it’s only through every single one of us doing our bit that a difference will be made.
Our products – we have more in the pipeline – are made from 99% natural ingredients; we transport no water which gives us a significant reduction in transportation, our sachets are compostable our bottles are made from plastic waste and the best part is that they should be used over and over again: USE – REFILL – REUSE.
Most other products contain more than 70% of water which means all that water has to be transported – this doesn’t make a lot of sense to us. Our products contain no water, you simply add tap water at home so our volume for transportation is significantly reduced – reducing the overall carbon footprint of the product
Our products are made by hand in France using more than 99% (99.6% to be exact and yes, we’re counting) all natural ingredients, sourced in either France or Europe wherever possible (coconuts are not so prolific in Europe just yet so we go elsewhere to get their oil). We use olive oil and coconut oils and argile as the base for the shower creme ensuring your skin is left cleansed, moisturised and feeling soft and silky. There are no harsh ingredients and no colouring so the product comes as natural as possible. The fragrances are very delicate and there is little lather, providing a creamy soft shower experience.
Milly (on the right) has lived in England, Asia and Europe where she has worked for various companies involved in the beauty and health industries. Milly lives with her husband, 2 children, Dylan the golden retriever (who is always stealing food) & Olive a super cute and very tame hamster. She loves cooking and is currently moving from a vegetarian diet to a plant based diet; loves travelling, which nowadays involves more local adventures; enjoys snuggling down with a good book, but most of all loves spending time with her wonderful family and the friends she’s met over the years.
Sissy (on the left) has her feet firmly planted on the ground and lives with quite a menagerie of animals along with 2 of her 3 children (the eldest is grown up and living abroad) and hubby. Her ever growing menagerie includes an ex racehorse Lola and her pony friend Dani, a clutch of ex battery hens, 2 Romanian rescue dogs, 4 rather delightful cats, guinea pigs and 3 sheep who needed a home. Sissy has lived on a vegetarian diet for over 30 years, she is living mainly from second-hand clothes for sustainability reasons #secondhandbutgrand, is incredibly compassionate and caring and an all-round good egg. She is constantly giving snippets of inspiration to us all to live a better life.
Many of us are concerned about the amount of waste we produce daily so when the opportunity came about to launch a shower crème which creates no waste, we jumped at the chance. We will initially launch the shower crème but have many other products in the pipeline.
Our products are thought through carefully to have the least impact as possible:
With your help, we would like to launch further products into the markets and scale up our enterprise. We really hope you’ll support us in our new venture, we truly believe every one of our actions count towards a better planet.
Our starter kit is really ideal to get you going. It contains a recycled plastic bottle, a flip top and a pump dispenser along with the 3 sachets of powdered shower creme. The 3 delicate fragrances are passion fruit, cherry blossom and shea tree. If you’re looking for gift ideas, this could be the perfect choice.
For £15 you will receive 3 sachets each containing 40g of powder. Each sachet can be made up to 500ml of shower creme giving you a total 1.5 litres of shower creme.
Become a Green Star member of Milly & Sissy for £250 and receive 30% of all orders for life.
We would love to be able to bring to you many other products that we have in the pipeline but need help. Funding would be spent on premises for both storage and packing facilities, the purchasing of more stock, to extend our on-line marketing presence and it would go towards the transportation costs.
Many thanks to every one of you who can help in this venture, we really appreciate it.
Our current challenges are managing the project from home. There are a lot of deliveries arriving at the moment and so making space is a very basic challenge we’re facing.
There are very few risks involved, the initial investment is privately funded and is really the only element at risk.
