Behind ICEBREAKER® is a dedicated team of ice cube enthusiasts. We love iced drinks but are not satisfied with the existing solutions for ice cubes. Therefore we made our own devices that will make it easier to make, serve and enjoy ice cold drinks every day!
Back in 2015 we launched our first innovative ice cube maker, “ICEBREAKER® URBAN”, on Kickstarter which was a success with over 300 % funding. That campaign made ICEBREAKER® a reality and four years later we are still selling URBAN.
Now we are ready to expand with a new product line focused on functionality and mobility. We looked at the existing solutions on the market and developed a product that combines the best aspects of these together with our patented technology.
We have already made fully functioning versions of POP, tested them with beta testers and are now finishing up the last adjustments. Production is also lined up and ready to start once we reach our funding goal.
Our first product became a reality because of a successful Kickstarter campaign. We have learned a lot from that experience and our capabilities have grown significantly since.
We have since matured as a company, our team has increased and we have grown steadily the last four years. We have established a reliable and proficient production facility for our current product and will use the same for the ICEBREAKER® POP. Therefore, we are now able to produce fully functioning versions of POP. These have already been tested by independent beta-users who provided their feedback and testimonials. Because of the testing and our accumulated expertise, there is no risk of failing to develop the product, since this is already completed.
With our established production facility, we will be able to send products to backers much faster than we were able to in our first campaign. When the campaign ends, we are ready to scale up the production. That way, all of our backers can expect to have their product in time for summer 2020. If we run into unexpected delays, we will maintain a transparent communication with our backers.
We have designed the cooler bag to supplement the POP and are currently evaluating different suppliers. The development of the bag is therefore not complete, but because of its simplicity we do not expect any major issues in the final stages of development.
Our biggest challenge is to gain awareness to build our sales. ICEBREAKER Nordic is not a huge company, and our budgets are limited. We have chosen to spend most of our money in product development, to make sure that our product is of the best quality possible.
