Hey Cutie : The Tabletop Dating Sim Crush on vampires, woo sexy cyborgs, and sabotage your opponents' love lives in this quirky card game

About

Hey Cutie is a light-hearted dating sim card game! Your goal: go on dates with all the cuties.

Make yourself more appealing to potential romantic partners, put on outfits and accessories to go out in style, and throw your opponents under the bus – all’s fair in love and board games.

The person who best manages their dating life will end up the victor and maybe, just maybe, find that special someone.

Hey Cutie mixes the grounded with the fantastical in a world where professors romance battle princesses and lumberjacks crush on vampires. Ever wanted to date a nine-tailed fox goddess or a cyborg? You absolutely can.

The game is comedy oriented and tongue-in-cheek. Flirt with your crushes by using cheesy pick-up lines, flexing your muscles, telling a joke – whatever they’re into.

You can strap on a cute puppy in a backpack to make yourself cuter, or carry around a rocket launcher to make sure your opponents don’t steal your dates, or even put a fedora on your enemies to make them undateable.

And if things are getting particularly desperate, you can wield game changing powers.

There are a lot of jokes and light-hearted moments to be had, but there’s still a bit of strategic depth to the game. You’ll have to outwit and outmaneuver your opponents if you don’t want to end up alone. But if you play your cards right, love and victory may be on the horizon.

But there’s more! Put on items to give yourself an advantage, use special powers to throw your opponents off, and steal dates from would-be suitors when they least expect it.

You can see the full rulebook below:

We’ve constructed a How to Play video which walks through all the rules. You can watch it here:

We also have an example play video, where 2 people play through an entire game, talking through their actions as they go:

This is just a small sampling of the people you can date in the game! Hey Cutie comes with over 30 lovable cuties you can date.

You can get any Addon regardless of your pledge level. If you want an Addon, simply choose the pledge level you want and then add the Addon amount to your pledge. If you want multiple Addons, just add the total amount of all the Addons you want to your pledge level. We’ll send a survey after the Kickstarter to work out what to send your way.

If you only want an addon and not the game itself, choose the $1 pledge level and add on the appropriate amount.

If you’re interested in the art print, you can see the full cast of Hey Cutie here.

The numbers above are for the base game. For the other rewards, click on the individual pledge level to see their shipping costs.

We’re working with a fulfillment partner to handle our shipping and fulfillment. This allows us to offer lower rates while still making sure our shipments are handled quickly and efficiently. Orders shipped within the US, Canada, China, and the EU will be shipped from within their respective regions, avoiding hidden taxes and fees.

We know international shipping costs are crummy. We’ve brought them down as much as we reasonably can without jeopardizing the game.

To be successful, we’ll have to spread the word about this project. Here are our social media channels for your following & reposting pleasure:

We’re avoiding social media-related stretch goals this time around, because we don’t like the idea of pressuring you into spamming your personal networks. That said, signal boosting is *greatly* appreciated, and we look forward to interacting with you across our various networks. :)

Risks and challenges

As with most physical products, the biggest risks are associated with manufacturing and shipping.

To minimize manufacturing risk, we are working with an established company that has a solid reputation and has produced a number of high-quality games – Panda. We’ve worked with them before, and we trust their ability to manufacture something polished in a reasonable timeframe. They’re an overseas company, and that introduces the possibility of unforeseen delays – we believe we’ve set realistic target dates given that possibility, but we promise to be fully transparent about any developments that happen.

We’re working with Quartermaster Logistics to help with shipping and fulfillment. They have the expertise and experience to help get our game to domestic and international backers safely and quickly. Again, we’ve worked with them before, and we have full confidence in them. Our approach to shipping is always to play it safe – shipping within the United States is a predictable space that we can work within without much problem. We are avoiding big physical rewards to avoid the shipping costs they would introduce.

We’re committed to getting this game out the door and onto your tables, and we’ll keep you fully updated along the way. Thank you so much for backing our game, and we hope you enjoy it!
