For $5 including shipping, we turn 1 plastic bottle collected off the coast into a reusable Cozy. Stop with the use-and-throw cardboard sleeves and promote a message of reusability and clean oceans. Put SLIPPIES on every drink and your wrist as a symbol of sustainability!
Here’s how it works: Plastic bottles get collected from coastal areas without proper waste management. The bottles then go to a North Carolina factory where they are transformed into yarn and knit into Slippies using 73% less energy, 67% less water, and 55% less chemicals than the making of regular yarns. The SLIPPY is the only product that uses 100% ocean-bound plastic. Which means that all of the bottles are collected from the beach or within 30 miles of the coast in countries without formal waste management systems.
OUR TEAM has been in the beverage accessory business since 2011. In fact, we launched our first product, the Freaker, with the help of Kickstarter! Since then, we have been on Shark Tank, been featured in a documentary about crowdsourcing, and have launched several other products. We’re back and super excited to present the SLIPPY, a knit coffee sleeve with an environmental cause! We’re thrilled to share the SLIPPY with everyone! And, with several years of experience under our belts, we are confident that we can meet your expectations! Thank you so much for your support!
3 ways you can help:
The main challenge in developing the Slippy was getting yarn that was 100% ocean-bound plastic. Post-consumer plastic yarn and post-consumer plastic mixed with ocean-bound plastic yarn exist now, but the SLIPPY yarn is the only yarn made of 100% ocean-bound plastic. Which means that all of the bottles are collected from the beach or within 30 miles of the coast in countries without formal waste management systems. Over the course of a year, we tested different designs, shapes, and yarn textures to make sure that we got the most comfortable, functional, and rugged product we could produce.
