Vets Central Debuts Digital Platform to Enhance Animal Welfare and Facilitate the Development of the Veterinary Industry Globally

TeleVets Services Offer International Specialist Expertise
Alongside a Suite of Professional Resources and Tools

Hong Kong, 14 October 2019 – Vets Central, which aims to empower vets around the world and revolutionize veterinary care, today introduced a powerful new suite of online services. The flagship TeleVets service enables veterinarians in Hong Kong and globally to expand their reach and consult with Vets Central’s team of consulting veterinarians to get a second opinion or advice on extreme cases. In addition to TeleVets, the global digital platform provides a full range of veterinary services to help veterinarians expand their knowledge and skills, enhance customer service and build their businesses.

The TeleVets services debuted with a live link from Tel Aviv to Hong Kong’s Pets Central 24 hour veterinary clinic in North Point. Dr. Dan Ohad of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem discussed a dog cardiology case with Dr Reanne Kwok of Pets Central. Dr. Ohad is one of the world class U.S. and European Board Certified veterinarians and experienced practitioners Vets Central has assembled based in America, Hong Kong and Israel, who offer their professional services 24/7 to veterinarians worldwide, with the initial focus being on Hong Kong, Asia and Eastern Europe.

“Vet Central is founded on the principle ‘For Vets, By Vets’,” said Dr Kurt Verkest, Chairman of the Board of Vets Central. “Our goal is to support industry professionals as their reliable partner to grow their businesses in the digital age, with a mission to enhance animal welfare and attract more talent to the industry.”

Veterinarians pay a monthly fee to receive digital media content for their websites and consultation rooms. For tele-veterinary services, consulting veterinarians are paid a fee. Professionals who want to share their knowledge with the network are welcomed to join as consulting veterinarians.

In addition to TeleVets, the Vets Central digital platform now includes monthly half hour digital media programs for in-clinic and web use, professional lectures for vets and veterinary technicians, and practice management software. Online and offline laboratories, an online pharmacy, and e-commerce solutions for vets are set to be added in the near future.

Vets Central is a member of California-based Pets Central Media Group. In its start-up phase, the company was invited by InvestHK to set up in Hong Kong, where it was incubated at Cyberport and received a grant to accelerate development of the business.
