Carl Dietrich
Terrafugias CEO/CTO, Co-Founder, received his BS, MS and Ph.D. from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) shortly after being selected as the 2006 winner of the prestigious Lemelson-MIT Student Prize for Innovation.
Carl was additionally recognized by the Aero/Astro Department at MIT as one of sixteen exceptional graduates under the age of 35. Carl has also received “40 Under 40” awards from the Boston Business Journal and Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine. Carl has spoken internationally and is generally regarded as the leader of the emerging modern flying car industry. He has been a private pilot since the age of seventeen.
Chief Operating Officer
Anna Mracek Dietrich
Terrafugias Chief Operating Officer (COO), Co-Founder, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. With experience at both GE Aviation and Boeing Phantom works, Anna brings project management expertise to the Transition development effort. Anna was named one of the Boston area’s top 15 Innovators by the Boston Globe, was one of the 10 women selected for the 6th annual Mass High Tech Women to Watch Award, and has been recognized by Engineers Week New England with their anual Achievement Award.
Anna is active in the ASTM industry standards committees that work to write requirements for both Light Sport and General Aviation Aircraft and serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Aviation International (WAI).
She has also spoken at TED Global and is a private pilot.

Andrew Heafitz
Chief Engineer, is another graduate of MIT with his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and recipient of the Lemelson-MIT Student Prize in 2002.
He brings eighteen years experience in composite automotive construction and testing to the Terrafugia team. Andrew has designed, built, and raced light-weight composite solar cars across the Australian outback.
Vice President Business Development
Richard Gersh
VP of Business Development, joined Terrafugia with over 25 years of executive-level experience in all phases of financial service company operations and risk management.
Dick has his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and a M.Ed. from Suffolk University. He is pursuing a private pilot license.

Semyon Dukach
Semyon Dukach is a Series A investor, a Series B investor, a Series C investor, and a Transition customer.
He was a founder and president of the MIT Amphibian Investments Team. He holds an MS from MIT and a BS from Columbia.
He was founder and CEO of several technology companies, and a mentor at the Cambridge Business Development Center.
He is the founder and CEO of SMTP.com, a publicly traded email handling company.
Director Sales & Marketing
Alex Min
Alex is a Terrafugia co-founder and external director.
He received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, focusing on entrepreneurship, marketing, and finance. Alex has extensive global sales experience, most recently with Textron Systems and Bell Helicopter.
Alex spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps as a naval aviator where he flew attack helicopters.
He is also an AOPA Life Member and an EAA Lifetime Member.

Koen Bouwers
Koen is a Series A and Series B investor. He was a founder / CEO of Scense, the Software Factory (East Europe), and Consul (Netherlands).
Earlier, Koen was President of the Dictation division of Lernout & Hauspie, and held senior positions at Apple, Philips and Quarterdeck in U.S. and overseas.
Koen holds M.S. from University of Utrecht, studying under Nobel laureate Gerard ‘t Hooft and an MBA from MIT where he met members of Terrafugias founding team.

Butch Weaver
Butch is a Series A investor, a Series B investor, and a Transition Premier Edition customer.
He attended MIT on a Schlumberger fellowship. As Qualcomm’s 12th employee, EVP / Fellow, he helped the firm to grow into a Fortune 500 company. Before Qualcomm, he was VP of Engineering at Linkabit. He is a member of EAA and the AOPA President’s Council.
Butch is an active and experienced pilot with SEL, SES, and MEL ratings.
He expects to receive one of the first two Transition airframes that will be delivered to customers.

Samuel Schweighart
A Terrafugia Technical Fellow and Co-Founder, received his MS and Ph.D. from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT and hold his BS from the University of Illinois. Sam brings a high degree of practicality and hands-on experience to the program, having left the Charles Stark Draper Laboratories to pursue Terrafugia. He is a private pilot and active hang glider pilot.
