Rajesh Vashist, chief executive officer at SiTime, has over 22 years of experience in the Semiconductor industry.
Prior to SiTime, Vashist served as CEO and chairman of the board at Ikanos Communications (NASDAQ: IKAN). Mr. Vashist grew Ikanos from a small start up to a highly competitive and successful publicly traded company. Ikanos is a leading global provider of high performance silicon and software for interactive broadband.
Prior to Ikanos, Vashist was general manager at Adaptec.
Prior to Adaptec, Vashist held positions at Vitelic Semiconductor and Samsung Semiconductor.
Vashist holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from REC Rourkela in India and an M.B.A. from Marquette University in Wisconsin.
Initial inventor of InChipMEMS technology, which allows vacuum-sealed MEMS structures to be manufactured in ultra-pure wafer cavities with integrated CMOS and shipped in low-cost industry standard packages. Mr. Lutz received his Diplom Ingenieur Elektrotechnik at the Technical University of Munich in 1992.
He started his career at Robert Bosch GmbH in Reutlingen Germany, where over four years he invented and managed the development of Bosch’s first silicon based MEMS gyroscope, now a $200M/year business.
In 1999 he joined the newly founded Research and Technology Center of Bosch in Palo Alto as MEMS Program Director.
Mark Lunsford, executive vice president of sales, brings more than 25 years of experience in leading successful worldwide sales teams.
Prior to SiTime, Mark served as vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas at NXP.
Previously, Mark served as vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Micrel and Pivotal Technologies, and held executive sales and marketing positions at Broadcom and AMD.
David Hsieh, Vice President of Sales, APAC, has more than 20 years of sales, engineering, and field application engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
Most recently, David was the co-founder and executive vice president at MSilicon Electronics, where he led both product development and sales execution.
Previously, he was the VP of Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing at Pal Micro Communications, a Centrality Communications company.
David has also held senior management positions at PCTel Inc., Alliance Semiconductor Co. (Nasdaq: ALSC) and ALi.
David has an EMBA in International Business Management from the National Taiwan University, a Master of Electronics Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from the Tam Kung University.
Piyush Sevalia, Executive Vice President of Marketing at SiTime, has over 20 years of semiconductor industry experience.
Prior to SiTime, Piyush was the Vice President of Marketing at Ikanos Communications (Nasdaq: IKAN). During his tenure at Ikanos, Piyush made significant contributions that drove the companys growth from a pre-revenue startup to a profitable, public company.
Before Ikanos, Piyush spent over nine years at Cypress Semiconductor in positions of increasing responsibility. There, his key contributions included helping Cypress expand into wireless markets as well as defining and launching successful timing products that generated several hundred million dollars of revenue.
Piyush earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bombay and the University of Michigan respectively, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Pavan Gupta began working at SiTime in 2005 directing the packaging, characterization, and qualification of MEMS based oscillators and now serves as SiTime’s Vice President of Operations.
Prior to SiTime, Pavan worked at Formfactor managing several teams responsible for MEMS process and manufacturing engineering of advanced MEMS-based probe cards for massively parallel semiconductor wafer probing.
Pavan’s earlier career includes working to develop a novel 3D MEMS-based optical cross connect as the Director of Optics and Package Engineering at C Speed Corporation and developing precision mechanisms for hard disk drive test equipment as a Test and Mechanical Engineer at IBM.
Pavan received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California and his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University specializing in mechatronics.
Brooke joined NEA in 2005 as a Venture Partner, focusing on software, systems and internet investments. He brings 30-plus years’ experience in technology finance and operations.
Brooke currently serves on the board of directors of Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA), Glu Mobile (NASDAQ: GLUU), Lithium Technologies, SiTime, SugarCRM, and Technical Communities.
He is also a board observer with Tabula. In addition to his NEA board responsibilities, Brooke serves on the board of directors of NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Informatica (NASDAQ: INFA).
Brooke was most recently a Partner with Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV).
Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President of NetDynamics, an application server software company, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 1998.
From 1991 to 1997, Brooke was Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations and CFO of Synopsys, an electronic design automation software company, which he took public in 1992.
Thomas W. Kenny (M’90) received the B.S. degree in physics from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1983 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1987 and 1989, respectively.
He has worked at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where his research focused on the development of electron-tunneling high-resolution microsensors.
In 1994, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, and directs MEMS-based research in a variety of areas including resonators, wafer-scale packaging, cantilever beam force sensors, microfluidics, and novel fabrication techniques for micromechanical structures.
Dr. Kenny is a founder of Cooligy, Inc., a microfluidics chip cooling components manufacturer.
Dr. Kenny has authored and co-authored over 200 scientific papers and holds 40 patents.
Joe Horowitz, Managing General Partner, was instrumental in launching Jafco Ventures with its current team in 2003, bringing 25 years of experience working with early-stage companies as a venture capitalist, advisor and entrepreneur. Joe is passionate about the value-creation process and loves working with talented entrepreneurs.

Joe’s venture capital experience prior to joining Jafco Ventures includes a 10-year tenure at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP) from 1982 to 1992 and three years with Exxon Enterprises. At USVP, the first deal that he worked on was the seed financing of Sun Microsystems.
In addition to being a General Partner, Joe was a member of USVP’s executive committee.
Dr. Stefan Kampmann is Executive Vice President for Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Technology of the Robert Bosch Automotive technology sector. This business sector of the Robert Bosch GmbH is the worlds largest automotive supplier, generates revenues of over 28 Billion Euros and employs over 165,000 associates.
From 2007 to 2010 Dr. Kampmann had the responsibility for the engineering of the Automotive Electronic division, as well as for the semiconductors and MEMS business.
From 2003 to 2007, Dr. Kampmann was the Senior Vice President of the Diesel Systems division at Robert Bosch GmbH, where he was responsible for the engineering of common rail systems for passenger cars and for developing Boschs diesel business with Asian, American and European customers.
Dr. Kampmann holds a Dr.-Ing degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and a Diploma degree in Physics from the University of Wurzburg.
VP, Engineering at SiTime
Aaron Partridge received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 1996, 1999, and 2003, respectively.
His thesis delivered MEMS accelerometers for the NASA X-33 space plane and the first thin film encapsulated piezoresistive accelerometers.
From 2001 through 2004 he was Project Manager at Robert Bosch Research and Technology Center (RTC), Palo Alto, CA, where he coordinated the MEMS resonator research. In 1987, he co-founded Atomis, Inc., a manufacturer of STM, AFM, and Ballistic Emission Electron Microscopes (BEEM), where he was Chief Scientist through 1991 when Atomis was sold to Surface Interface Inc. Atomis equipment was installed at AT&T Bell Labs, CERN, NIST, GM Research Labs, and various universities.
Dr. Partridge has authored and co-authored over 30 scientific papers and holds over 60 patents.
Sergey’s role at Rusnano is to oversee and manage venture / private equity investments on a global arena. Sergey Polikarpov joined Rusnano as Managing Director in 2007.
Prior to Rusnano, Sergey worked for Interros, one of the largest Russian industrial groups, on hydrogen / fuel cell projects. He also served on the board of Plug Power (Interros owned a major stake in the US company), a leader in fuel cell manufacturing.
Before Interros, Sergey was Head of Investor Relations at Norilsk Nickel, the largest Russian mining company. He played a key role in the acquisitions of Polyus Gold and Stillwater Mining (US) by Norilsk Nickel.
Sergey started his career as Research Analyst at Renaissance Capital, a leading Russian investment bank, in 1996 and later continued as Investment Banker at LV Finance before joining Norilsk Nickel in 2001.
Sergey holds a Masters degree from Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
