We’ve all been there: it’s a warm, sunny, blue sky kind of day, and you look up to enjoy the view, and what do you see? A sweet proposal spelled out in the sky, a fun advertisement written among the clouds, or a cool design left behind by a professional aircraft.
Everyone has seen skywriting before, and even imagined what they would create if they got the chance to leave their mark among the clouds. The reality is, not many people have the resources or the budget to hire an expensive aircraft to do it.
But what if there was another kind of reality, one where anyone could touch the sky?
Every year, technology gets smarter, more versatile, and more unique, a fact that is particularly true when it comes to augmented reality platforms. Using AR technology, including Facebook, Snapchat, Layar, and BlipAR, people are able to superimpose computer-generated images over their own pictures and videos and see what another world could look like, one where they can wear dog ears or swap faces with their best friends. And while current augmented reality platforms do allow users to play with their imaginations with predefined AR assets, like filters and effects, they do not allow users to create their own content. Instead, users are confined to assets and objects available to them, rather than given the freedom to see what they could imagine on their own.
That is, until Skrite created it.
You don’t need an airplane, thousands of dollars, or a pilot’s license to leave your mark among the clouds. With Skrite, you can own the sky!
