Designed from the ground up with these critical features and capabilities:
This is one of the critical differences. With traditional see-through optical technologies used by all of our competitors, it is extremely difficult and cost prohibitive to exceed 40 degrees FoV. Most other companies offer FoV in the 30 degree range. In this restricted range, peripheral vision is not involved and there is no emotional connection to the actual content. The IMMY® is different. We have a 60 degree FoV per eye (some in the industry consider this 120 degree FoV). This enables the IMMY® to provide an immersive and emotional experience unlike any other products in the industry.
Most other devices are heavy and uncomfortable to wear. Due to our optical technology, the IMMY® is the lightest product at a 60 degree FoV, making it much more comfortable for extended use.
Viewers often complain about eye strain and motion sickness problems when they use other AR or VR devices. IMMY believes that eye-comfort/eye-safety are paramount. Our optic system emulates human vision and works with the eye, NOT against it, delivering the most comfortable and natural viewing experience. The only lens in our system is YOUR EYE.
The IMMY® is powered by a lens-less imaging system that replicates human vision and enables the most immersive, natural, and comfortable AR/VR experience available. N.E.O. has enabled our team to develop products with a large FoV, unparalleled eye comfort, and a lightweight and mobile form factor.
This technology allows the IMMY to provide both AR & VR in a single product. The IMMY® Intelli-Tint, a unique technology that enables variable transmission control of light entering the glasses, allows the user to have control over their interaction with the content. This also enables photorealistic delivery of AR and VR applications by blocking the light behind the generated images.
The IMMY® offers innovative UI/UX coupled with tracking and environmental mapping technologies and methodologies to deliver a natural and compelling end user experience.
The SDK is designed to allow developers to begin creating AR content which runs on our glasses as efficiently as possible. In addition, we strive to keep the SDK as flexible as possible, so that end users are able to tailor their development to their particular application.
At the core of the IMMY SDK is a native library which controls the basic functionality of the headset. This includes control of the display’s brightness, format, and power state, control of the headset’s variable opacity coating, audio volume control, and several additional features, such as display mute.
As part of IMMYs software package, we also provide developers with an API for accessing the various sensors mounted on the headset. The headset will be equipped with multiple image sensors, an orientation sensor, microphones, and an ambient light sensor. Beyond merely accessing the data from the sensors, IMMY offers a software package which operates on raw sensor data, yielding intelligent and fluid positioning of the headset in space. This allows developers to easily and accurately position virtual objects relative to the user. These native libraries are cross-platform, allowing basic control over the headset on Windows, Android, Mac, and Linux.
