Business Description
Capitol Kettle Corn has been selling popcorn and kettle corn for over 6 years. We started doing this by seeing it at a sporting event and trying it at a flee market on Saturdays. We saw success as a hobby and decided to continue as a full service business and have grown to 2 successful farmers markets and over 15 festivals annually for the past 3 years. The challenge has been moving forward to the next stage of Wholesale & Retail. About 50% of our customers are farmers market regulars, 45% festival attendees, and 5% are kiosk/online sales. The future mile stones we strive for are to establish a solid wholesale and retail presence in the Maryland/DC/VA area, open a brick & mortar, move into the national/international sales, franchise, and pass the success to grandchildren. I am most proud of still being in business and learning why you must do your do diligence to make every effort to succeed at something you love to do.
What is the purpose of this loan?
Assist in paying for Equipment (Kettle, Caramelizer) estimated cost $12K. We project an increased revenue by 75% and profit of 45%. The loan will alleviate the use of upfront personal funds that would take up to three years to save. We are in negotiations with an upscale retailer that wants to sell our products in locations in Maryland, DC, Virginia and PA. There customers include over 80% of national and international visitors year round. The loan will impact my business by affording me an opportunity to move forward creating a successful business that can create jobs. This loan will also impact my family life by allowing me to introduce my 3 girls to what it takes to start, sustain, succeed at being an owner of business.
