Impulse Gymnastics Club (iGC) was established in Navan in the autumn of 2013 by Joseph and Ildiko Molnar.
It was set up under the strict guidelines of the International FitKid movement, which was established in 2007 by FitKid Division.
It’s a really exciting, fun sporting gymnastics genre for boys and girls. It combines high-impact, choreographed floor gymnastics through an exciting mix of aerobic, rhythmic, artistic and dance elements.
It is all floor-based gymnastics and provides structured coaching and conducts international competitions annually from beginners to elite levels on the European stage. As a sporting discipline, it is well-represented and monitored through strict guidelines and criteria in many countries around the world.
We love this sport, but it’s new and is a relatively unknown genre in Ireland in a sport that gets very little funding, even for the mainstream disciplines such as artistic or rhythmic gymnastics.
We want to grow, we’re working our flexible backsides off with our brilliant Head Coach Gary Hars (Gary has coached with the USA Olympic Gymnastics Team) to get this sport into the mainstream and we hope one day it will be a seen as the best gymnastics genre in Ireland attracting more and more children into this exciting discipline.
We’ve already sent the first member of Impulse Gymnastics Club to an international competition to represent Ireland in Hungary (go Katie!), and then sent 3 competitors to Iceland last October (go Katie, Marley and Eszter!) to compete in the FitKid European Cup.
We also hope to send a squad to Valencia this year to compete in the 2015 European FitKid Championships.
We want to develop more boys and girls in the local community and expand across Ireland creating a national scene with more clubs in the near future; we don’t want to just represent, we want to win and bring home European Champions!
Well, simply, we need your help. Like any gymnastics club, we rely heavily on sponsorship. We desperately need to add more gymnastics equipment to take us forward and, as we all know, equipment costs money!
Key steps needed for 2015 are:
So, if you can, please get behind us. Why not bring your children and come and join us. Contribute and be part of a sport that is training, can train and will train children today to become the gymnastics champions of tomorrow.
Thanks so much,
Yours in Sport
