NEW YORK, — Leading multi-label bridal house, JLM Couture Inc. filed a civil lawsuit (Civil Action no. 18–CV –1655) in the U.S. District Court for Southern District of New York against 90 sellers of counterfeit wedding dresses. The Court recently granted JLM’s request for a temporary restraining order against such counterfeit sellers, which requires that the sellers’ storefronts and financial accounts be frozen.
Joseph L. Murphy, president and CEO of JLM Couture said, “We are encouraged that our legal efforts, along with the vigilance of our retailers, both domestically and internationally, has led to the exposure and disruption of this theft.” He said, “JLM will continue to invest in protecting its brands against counterfeiters.”
