My school is a Title 1 flow school. Our entire school receives free lunch and free breakfast. We receive students from many area schools. Most of my students are in fact zoned for other schools and ride the bus to and from school.
My class is a Varying Exceptionalities ESE Pre-K class.
My students are ages 3-5 and must have a mild developmental delay in 2 developmental areas or a significant delay in at least one area. The areas that we assess are Social/Emotional, Adaptive, Communication, and Cognitive.
Each of my students needs vary.However, all of my students have language and communication needs.
Providing a language rich environment is my goal. In my classroom we are singing and talking all day long.
Each of my students have development delays.
Some mild and some more severe.
All of my students have speech and language needs. Having conversations is something that these babies are missing.
Answering questions is the most difficult thing for all of my students to do. The Circle Time Activity center will give my students daily practice with counting, alphabet recognition, rhyming, and calendar concepts. Both the Story Teller Writing Box and The Let’s Get Talking Prompt Box will give my students oral language practice.
These products will help the children orally, visually, and tactically. We will be given open ended, child friendly topics to talk about, picture cards and tactile letter cards. We will be given extra practice to get us talking in the whole group environment.
