In June, the Senior Handball team of the Academic Association of Coimbra managed to rise to the second national division, after a season filled with difficulties but with great sporting success. More than two decades later, it is possible to have in Coimbra handball with a good competitive level.
Unfortunately, the presence of the AAC Handball team in the second division for the next season depends on the financial capacity to support the expenses. To this end, the financial support of institutions, companies and supporters is fundamental to maintain Briosa’s spirit and ensuring that a young team, committed and full of university students, for the sake of the jersey, can compete to the best level (in the best amateur spirit and Tradition of Coimbra).
At a time when only the AAC resists in the district of Coimbra with the practice of handball (where the European University Games are going to be held next year), the existence of a senior team is essential for the continuation of the Rebirth of Handball Project launched in recent years .
At the same time, we can not and will not jeopardize the continued operation of the training courses for the young players, which are the guarantee of the future of the sport in the AAC and in the district. However, young people need a senior team that is a reference and a motivation to continue, in greater numbers, to practice the sport.
The Direction of the Handball Section of AAC intends to maintain a gradual sustainability course of the Handball Section, and will not embark on irresponsible financial adventures. We will continue with the senior team, with total dedication, only if we can find the financial support needed.
We are ready for the challenge. Come with us on this journey, support us.
The city of Coimbra deserves to have a competitive handball team.
Make This Passion Yours Too! Support Briosa!
The minimum value to continue with a Senior Handball team is the amount indicated in this campaign however the minimum value to compete in the 2nd national division is the amount presented in this budget. If we only achieve the stated objective of the campaign we will continue with a senior team in the regional championship, if we reach the value of this budget we will be proud to compete with teams such as Porto “B”, Benfica “B”, Boavista, etc. on the national championship.
