Carriage House Products started making cheese straws and pecan biscuits in Farmville, VA in 1996. Our recipe originates in Martinsville, VA by a man named Stewart Miller. He was a terrific gourmet cook and always had his cheese straws on hand for everyone who stopped by his home, which was commonly called the Carriage House. Everyone throughout the area loved Stewart’s cheese straws, and it is his recipe that we continue to follow today. The business grew, incorporated and moved to Richmond, VA in 2003. Our facility is certainly larger and more sophisticated than the home kitchen used by the founding father, but we never veer from the original recipes for our Traditional Cheese Straws and Pecan Biscuits, assuring you of the great homemade quality and taste of America’s favorite snack foods.
Barnraiser Favorite – With a recipe that has originated from Stewart Miller in 1996, Carriage House has perfected and continued the production of quality, all-natural snacks such as their excellent cheese straws and delicious cookies.
One of their must-try specialty is the “Bacon Cheese Straws” which mixes the delightful flavors of rich uncured bacon and heavenly aged sharp cheddar cheese. It is just so good! No wonder it is one of their best sellers!
