Emergencies happen every day.
The Mt. Pleasant, SC Fire Department responds to emergencies of all kinds, everyday, at all hours of the day. When responding to those calls, some of them include kids. Our goal is to try and make a scary situation, less scary, by providing kids with a Fitch Fire Dog to remind them they are loved.
Historically, Fire Departments carried stuffed animals on their trucks, but over time that initiative lost funding.
In talking with the Mt. Plesant Fire Department about how we could help we discovered an opportunity to bring this program back…and Fitch Fire Dogs was born.
Fitch Fire Dogs save the day!
Every time we order a batch of these plush, dalmation dogs we personally add our custom tag to let kids know we are “sending love”. Then we personally deliver these dogs to the seven fire stations around Mt. Pleasant. The Fire Department crew is so awesome and sometimes even invite us to help them stock their rescue vehicles. Major perk!!!
You can join us.
We are trying to build up a solid stock of Fitch Fire Dogs for 2017. By our calculations, the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department will deliver over 400 dogs to kids in scary emergencies each year. If we can raise $1100, we can cover the balance of 2017, and have a great start going into the holidays and 2018 New Year (where sadly emergencies occur most often). This will be a great opportunity to help our community.
