For fans of Fripp & Eno, Tangerine Dream, Throbbing Gristle, This Heat and more. Anachronism is a recording I have wanted to release for a while now, but I felt it needed a proper context first. With the completion of my latest solo album, Blank, the sonic experimentation contained within Anachronism serves as somewhat of a prequel to that recording.
As stated in the video trailer, the contents of Anachronism are taken from a single recording session on June 2nd, 2016. Over 90 minutes of continuous live, improvised guitar soundscapes and electronic mayhem have been crafted into a one-hour set of movements that retain the exact flow of the session. Pieces were not moved around, but I have taken the time to trim what I felt was a bit too excessive. I am still completely baffled as to how the majority of these sounds happened, and although I could reverse engineer some of it, this recording is a true testament to the freedom and mysteries of the moment.
There is a lot of digital content in the store for this one, including several hours of related material from my past (The Complete Future Nostalgia Recordings), the full Anachronism session (Anachronism Uncut), and more. I am also going to do live-streaming improv sessions on a one-on-one basis, where you can be an audience of one to watch me create in real-time and receive the audio exclusively to do with what you wish.
Whether you are a newcomer or pre-existing supporter of my work in general, you will find me exploring some completely new territory here. With Anachronism, a deepening sense of elements that I have kept under the surface previously, are now on display in front of you. In addition, all funding raised beyond the initial goal will directly support my upcoming live performances, which will allow me to take the music from Blank, Anachronism and more, out on the road. Thank you!
