Share Love to change lives in Malawi
HOOK / QUICK EXPLANATION OF THE PROJECT

And if partying could change lives in Malawi?
This is the aim of Love Specs France, our association that decided to develop a humanitarian project just not like any other.
Our concept is simple: we propose installations and animations during festivals, a medium to make the public experiment one of a kind immersive experiences.
Our secret weapon: The Love Specs, magical glasses that transform every light source into rainbow hearts.
We sell the Love Specs to the public and 100% of the profits go to the British NGO Love Support Unite, which works to improve living conditions in Malawi.
It’s a win-win for everyone: the public has a wonderful experience, we raise funds and the NGO continues its work in Malawi.
The concept appeals a lot: in one year we have participated in more than twenty events and our agenda is filling up quickly for the 2017 festivals season!
That is why we are launching this participatory fundraising campaign: today we need a bit of help to create and consolidate our structures in order to serenely approach the upcoming season and the future!

Everything began in 2007 when Alice Pulford, a 17-year-old English girl, went to Malawi for a teaching internship. This small country in Africa, a former British colony, is one of the poorest country in the world and the situation there is more than difficult: HIV and famine are decimating the population, the illiteracy rate is very high and many underage children are working.
Alice falls in love with the country and returns many times there with the growing desire to do the best she can do to help. She meets the Mkandawire, a Malawian family that takes care of 400 orphans, who suggests renovating a building on their land. Helped by her sister Nina, Alice raised funds to build the Tilinanu orphanage.

The first project in Tilinanu made the Pulford sisters understand the amplitude and urgency of the region’s needs on a larger scale. As a respond the sisters decide to found the NGO Love Support Unite. Its functioning is based on the UN Foundations for the Future model, which means empowering local communities to change their own lives in a sustainable way rather than creating dependency on humanitarian support.

To finance the NGO’s actions, the two sisters imagine a creative way to raise funds: The Love Specs, light-diffractionglasses that transform light sources into hearts. They decide to sell this unique object during music festivals in Europe.

It is through this object that, in 2015, two French young people, Martin and Alexis, discovered the project. They fall under the spell of Love Specs at a festival, learn about the NGO and contact the English team. In March 2016, they created the association Loi 1901 Love Specs France, which collects funds in France for Love Support Unite.
At the beginning: a simple stall made of a camping table and hand-painted posters, and the adventure begins! Martin and Alexis, helped by friends and volunteers, travel in France to sell Love Specs on various musical and cultural events. The Love Van, an old truck bought for the occasion, accompanies them faithfully on their journey.

At the end of 2016, the glittery stall and the truck have come a long way! To exploit the immersive and psychedelic potential of the glasses, the team has set up a scenography around light, sound, smell and touch. The audience thus experiences a real sensory experience! And it’s something that we care about: sharing love and exceptional moments and not just selling glasses on a stall.
Bannière “The Future”
In 2017, the potential of Love Specs France is materializing. Our humanitarian commitment and our know-how in scenography are attracting more and more organizers, and we are increasingly getting some request for events aroung France. in demand about events.
The team is structured, welcomes new members and sees big projects for the future.
We are currently working on a real itinerant concept that combines party and humanitarian actions as well as new systems to raise funds on a continuous basis, in parallel with the events we taking part of.
That’s why, now, we need YOU!
Banner “Why this Crowdfunding? “
Today we operate in a just-in-time basis: we cover expenses from day-to-day, but we cannot make investments. Yet, we need it to start investing both to consolidate what we already have and to allow us to grow.

Bannière IF WE GO FURTHER
Because we believe in it very strongly!
Beyond the target, we will donate 50% of the contributions to Love Support Unite to directly fund projects in Malawi!
And we will use the other half to develop and consolidate our action and our concept!
And do not forget, it is thanks to YOU that we will succeed in this campaign! Every contribution counts, and even if you cannot give money, you can help us:
The important thing is to share smiles and love!
