After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2010, it took me 3 years to find the way out of this devastating disease. Running helped me overcome my condition and lead me to conquer my first marathon in 2014. In the year after, the challenge increased and I completed 3 marathons in a month. Now, a new and astonishing challenge – the IRONMAN – composed by 3.8 km open water swimming, 180 km cycling and 42 km running that contribute to the most difficult triathlon event in the world.
In that sense I created the project “IronEM” as the living instrument of promotion and demystification of the Multiple Sclerosis disease. By participating in the IRONMAN, I hope to inspire others with my example and show that no matter what, it is possible to believe in a better tomorrow and hope to live our dreams.

In this project I will include the will to help the Coimbra delegation of the MS Portuguese Society. I will offer 25% of project value money to help this institution acquiring a transportation van, fully equipped to receive patients affected by MS.
The “IronEM” will serve as beacon to all of those that receive the news of having a devastating disease. You may think that by having MS your life will not be the same. By fulfilling my dream I will demonstrate that through adaptation and acquiring new and healthier habits, everything is possible.

Fortunately, I have good running and cycling conditions. However, since I have not a swimming pool in my hometown (Vimioso), I am obligated to do at least 120 km per training session, 4 times a week to the district capital (Bragança)
