Vida Jeric, my 24 years old sister is fighting for her life.
On February 20th, her life changed radically for the worse when she got diagnosed with stage 4 Burkitt’s lymphoma, rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer. She was admitted to hospital week before, with swollen body and eye that she couldn’t open. Her body felt like it was going to explode, as she had retained 18kg of extra water. After hearing the devastating news she immediately started receiving chemotherapy. Completing three rounds of rituximab, the results were encouraging.
Unfortunately we are at point where her battle got very complicated. She couldn’t complete fourth round of chemo, because the medical expenses piled up way beyond what we can afford. She desperately needs additional rounds of chemotherapy, otherwise the cancer will relapse and when it does, it will come back with vengeance. Untreated, the tumour can double its size in 24 hours.
This is her one shot at fighting this. She’s not getting second chance, and we’re running out of time. We have never felt so scared and hopeless in our lives, but she’s not ready to give up yet. If you can help her to continue this fight, we will be eternally grateful.
