A space based roguelike/roguelite with procedural loot and custom turrets, where you also get to land on planets in Lander style!
Interstellar rogue is my attempt at making the space based roguelike i was always looking for. I like 2d pixel art, I feel it has character over 3d generaly speaking, Also i really like the randomness of roguelikes and scifi stuff so here is much of my taste brought together.
The game will be based around a roguelike structure
-going through warp holes rather than down floors.
-perma-death
-lots of ship classes from tiny 1 turret ships to huge 10 turret capital ships.
-Lots of weapon types
-several levelling pilot classes.
-randomly generated changeable turrets.
-randomly generated equipment that affects every aspect of your ship.
-Planet landings with a lander (arcade game) style
Like a most rogue likes you will control only a single ship at any time, its all about getting your equipment right then your combat/other skills letting you survive to get to the final boss.
The fun in rogue likes is often in the variety of loot, so i’m focused on trying to make that interesting and varied, so each run really will feel unique.
Plan to complete this game whatever happens, however without the kick starter funds the game may be smaller and slower in development. I have already completed and released a full game on steam called troid blaster, and I’m more than capable of finishing this project, money and time are all i need :-).
