a Huzur Vadisi Yoga Retreats Crowdfunding Project
www.huzurvadisi.com
Thank you for taking the time to look at our bid for Crowdfunding… this is an ‘all or nothing’ funding bid, so if we don’t reach our target, we won’t receive your pledge.
So we need commitment from a lot of people to make it happen! If you want to see this project succeed and enjoy staying at Rowan Tree Hill Retreat in the future, you will need to be really pro-active and make a pledge!
We are Jane and Ian Worrall, brother and sister business partners. We have worked together in Turkey since 1993 with our Turkish partner Tanfer Taka, to create and run Huzur Vadisi Yoga Retreat. Huzur Vadisi is one of the very first established yoga retreats, regularly featuring in the national press, and is consistently voted among the top ten retreats in the world. www.huzurvadisi.com
We want to fundraise to enable us to create another special yoga retreat, this time in Wales…. please read on!
Jane and Ian at Huzur Vadisi
‘I think Huzur Vadisi is one of the most wonderful places I’ve ever visited. It offers the most perfect escape from everyday life surrounded by wonderful plants, trees and animals. The yurts are comfortable and spacious and falling asleep to the sounds of wildlife outside was incredible; an utter release from the stresses of everyday life in London. For me it truly felt like being in a relaxed homestay or visiting with friends. I also have to say the food at Huzur Vadisi is amazing; fresh, healthy and delicious. Every day we had lovingly-prepared vegetarian dishes; this nutritious food really complemented the physical nature of the holiday; I felt energised and focused on my yoga practice as a result. I came away uplifted by the kindness, generosity and warmth of the whole experience. This was a memorable holiday for me and one I would never hesitate to recommend.’ Rob Williams
Ian and I have inherited a hilltop smallholding near the West Wales coast. It has far reaching views, lovely wildflower meadows and woodland. We want to raise funds to be able to share this resource with our large network of yoga friends and teachers, past and present, by creating a small residential retreat in Wales, for yoga or simply for a get-away-from-it-all break, and to be able to conserve and enhance the environment, which has been kept organically for more than 45 years.
To support this project we are inviting you to essentially purchase a stay in advance at Rowan Tree Hill, beginning at just a £50 donation in return for a night’s bed and breakfast, increasing in stages up to £1000 for multiple stays or to share with a group. You can also pass on any stays to a nominated friend if you wish. Or simply make a donation to help create something beautiful and to conserve organic meadows, woodland and wildlife habitat…

This is to give you an idea of what we have achieved to give you confidence in our proposed project
Two of our yoga shalas in Turkey
Both Turkish retreats, Huzur Vadisi and Suleyman’s Garden, are known for their simple, comfortable and authentic rusticty. We are sensitive to the beautiful environment and culture of the location, using traditional building methods and materials as far as possible.
We style simply with a flavour of the local culture. Our guests feel they are seeing the real Turkey and are welcomed into the community, feeling like house guests rather than tourists.
The accommodation is immersed in nature, comfortable, clean and appropriate to the site. We have yurts at Huzur Vadisi and rustic cabins at Suleyman’s Garden.
We employ local people and make delicious meals from local and home grown organic produce.
In recent years to accommodate our growing waiting list, we have reached out to other venues in Spain and Norway, with whom we work in partnership, guiding them in the needs of yoga groups and managing bookings for our network of teachers and yoga guests.
So this is our background to show what we have achieved and to outline what we can do in the future by bringing the same aesthetic to Wales…
Our smalholding is on a hilltop near the West Wales coast. We would love to share this resource with our network of yoga teachers, yoga friends and guests, and anyone else who would like to invest in four acres of organic wildflower meadow and woodland, to help us to create a residential retreat for us all to enjoy, while conserving and enhancing the environment as a habitat for bio-diversity and wildlife.
We will be working with Glastir Woodand Creation to plant an extra acre of native woodland and hedgreows, including rowan, hazel, birch, alder, oak, and cherry to create even more diversity for the environment and wildlife.
We have planning permission in principle to create shepherds huts as accommodation, plus a yoga shala and a communal space built in appropriate, low impact technology to fit into the location.
We will use whatever amount we can raise and develop in stages as investment allows, to eventually include all parts of the plan, including a natural swimming pond which will provide a resource for wildlife as well as a wonderful feature for people to enjoy, also a wood-fired hot tub. We can guarantee that the more we raise the more amazing Rowan Tree Hill Retreat will be for your stay. We have always continually invested in our Turkish retreats to make them better year on year, and our many guests have always commented on how much they appreciate the love and care we have poured into the venues to make them an increasingly enjoyable experience.
We are ten minutes from the coast of Cardigan Bay and the charming historic small town of Aberaeron.
Our county, Ceredigion, is perhaps not as well known as other parts of Wales, and is all the better for it, with lots of lovely uncrowded beaches and walks.
The long distance coastal path is accessible at many different points for exhilerating walks with the chance of seeing the resident pod of Cardigan Bay dolphins, seals or other wildlife.
The area is famous for the resurgence of the once endangered red kite, a magnifcent flyer who can be seen most days circling above the house. The nearby Cambrian Mountains are also a wonderfully wild and empty place for great walks.
We are also blessed with living in a place that has no light pollution, the moon and stars are simply wonderful on cloudless nights.
The area is also renowned as the place where the organic movement began and we have access to great locally grown organic produce.
We also wish to support the local economy in this rural area of low employment.
Accessibility
We can be reached from Aberystwyth station, a beautiful train trip through mid-Wales. We can arrange for you to be collected. Or we are a four hour drive from London down the M4 or three hours from Birmingham or Manchester.
We hope you will agree that this resource is something worth caring for and preserving into the future for the enjoyment of all…
