A loan of $5,050 helps to buy fertilizers and seeds to grow resistant crops.

Wilnor’s story

Wilnor is leading a social enterprise with many farmers. With other actors, he lets his farmers benefit from a literacy program, health checkups, and community involvement.

Now he would like to find a loan to increase their capacity by providing them with fertilizers and seeds to grow manioc, maize, and tomatoes during the coming seasons. If this loan is obtained, at least 100 members will work as contractual workers in farmed lands and they will benefit from the harvest.

This loan is special because:

It provides small and growing businesses in Haiti with access to capital.

More about this loan

This loan supports a small and growing business in Haiti. Fonkoze’s Zafen program helps to support Haiti’s missing middle. This segment includes businesses whose working capital needs are greater than what microfinance can provide, but who are still too small to access commercial lending. By supporting this underserved segment, you are playing an important role in creating jobs and driving economic growth in Haiti.

About Fonkoze – Zafèn:

Fonkoze is Haiti’s largest microfinance institution, offering a full range of financial and development services to Haiti’s rural poor. Zafèn is a program created by Fonkoze to provide soft loans, training and support for village savings and loan associations, as well as small and growing businesses in Haiti. Soft loans are loans that are offered at an interest rate below the market rate.
