Georgette is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima who sells secondhand clothing at a shantytown market. A member of the loan group called “Tusonge Mbele“, she is 58, a widow, and the mother of five children, all in school. With initial capital from her husband when he was alive, she has been operating her business for thirty years.
She is going to stock up with a bale of used clothing to bolster her business. Her wish is to become independent without having to turn to borrowing and to provide schooling and food for her children. So, she thanks Hekima and its partners for supporting unbanked entrepreneurs.
