In June 2014, the Sweet-n-Cheezy food trailer was opened to the public and under the direction of Chef Brian McFarland. The mission of Sweet-n-Cheezy is to provide an experience that keeps people coming back. The recipe includes exceptional service, fresh, healthy, great-tasting food and experiences that create memories. The goal is to make every Sweet-n-Cheezy patron feel like they are at home.
In just 15 months, Sweet-n-Cheezy has grown to rival several well-known food truck brands in Central Texas. The Sweet-n-Cheezy brand has built a reputation for value, creativity and excellent customer service. In the short time frame of 15 months, Sweet-n-Cheezy has received over 123 reviews on Facebook and 74 reviews on Yelp with an average rating of five-stars. Most reviews talk about the flavors of the food and the outstanding customer service.
Sweet-n-Cheezy is destined to be the next break out food concept in the nation. Many other break out food concepts are so complex that they require specialized culinary resources to maintain their excitement. Sweet-n-Cheezy is unique and simple at the same time and will be an easy concept for expansion.
• Gourmet Melts – Gourmet Grilled Cheese sandwiches are the signature offering for lunch and dinner. Each sandwich is a unique combination of fresh meats, vegetables and cheezes
• Shaved Ice –Sweet-N-Cheezy formulates proprietary syrup flavors using all natural purees. Our aim is to deliver a treat that is not only tastes good but doesn’t introduce harmful chemicals into the digestive system. With the expansion, we plan to offer sugar-free syrups.
• Fresh Freeze – The Fresh Freeze is Sweet-N-Cheezy’s signature cold dessert. It features layers of shaved ice, fresh fruit and flavored syrup.Currently, we offer the Fresh Freeze on weekends only. With expansion, we plan to offer this item daily.
• Sweets – Initially, sweets were only available on the weekends and in the winter. With the expansion, we plan to offer several dessert items on a daily basis.

In 2014, in partnership with my husband and chef, Brian McFarland, I developed and introduced a food truck brand in Round Rock, TX. The Sweet-n-Cheezy food truck delivers consistent customer engagement and revenue gains each month. We have grown the Facebook following to over 14,000 likes in seventeen months through targeted pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and close management of Google+, Yelp and Twitter accounts. We currently have a 5 star rating on Yelp with 80 reviews.
Cooking is relatively easy but creating fine foods that excite the eater is a gift. My gift is creativity in taste and presentation. I have had the opportunity to exercise this gift during my studies at the Texas Culinary Academy where I held an average of 94% in cooking lab. I have also had the pleasure of learning baking and pastry from Chef Brownman Webb who is now the head pastry chef at Nordstrom in Dallas.
In March of 2014, I have created the Sweet-n-Cheezy concept and began the process of designing and building a food trailer to test the concept in Round Rock TX. Food Trucks are big business in Round Rock but until recently, there have been few unique options in the surrounding communities. The initial ramp was slow but by staying true to our mission, we have built a strong and respected brand in the northern suburbs of Austin and now we want to expand that brand.
