A loan of $275 helps to buy more ingredients for food cooking and cold water to sell.

Betty’s story

Meet Betty, a 43-year-old widow with three children. Their ages range from 7 through 15. She runs a business where she sells cooked food and cold water.

She has been in this business for the past six years, and this is what is helping her to educate her children. She is hoping for this loan to buy more ingredients for food cooking and cold water to sell.

She describes herself as a hardworking woman; she got to know this trade from her mother. Betty’s future plans are to build houses and to educate her children.

She appreciates BRAC and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
