The Swedish startup Content Central will soon launch a marketplace where freelancers and publishers can sell, buy, trade and distribute editorial content.
The media industry is transforming rapidly, letting big parts of their editorial staff to go. At the same time the media outlets (newspapers, magazines, weeklies and online publishers) are in a big, constant need of editorial content.
Out of the total journalistic work force in Sweden, about 10% are freelancers. On the international market are almost 50% of the total journalistic work force freelancers.
We have a service where freelancers can upload their articles and images and make it easy for media outlets to search, read, buy and instantly download ready-to-publish articles.
All freelancers also has a profile with LinkedIn-like features to verify their skills and knowledge. Media outlets can also search for special competences for assignments.
In the pipeline we also have upcoming features that will make a lot of todays work easier for publishers.
