Create virtual remote controls of your favorite connected home products wherever you live, wherever you want, for whatever you need. It’s like creating your own augmented reality, right at home.
1. Scan Your Room
Place Hayo in a room where you would like to set up a virtual remote control. Hayo will then create a 3D image map of the room.
2. Create Virtual Remote Controls
Using Hayo’s augmented reality app, create virtual remote controls on top of objects or right in thin air. Then connect them to your favorite connected home platforms and products. Our app will be available for IOS and Android.
3. Start Using Hayo
Since Hayo is always sensing your movements and gestures, you can start using the remote controls right away.
Create as many controls as you want
It’s your house, you decide!
Place Hayo in any room to create a 3D map of your space and objects. Using our simple-to-use app, you can then create virtual remote controls for all of your connected home devices.
Want to make your coffee table a play button for Sonos? Hayo can do that. Want to place an on/off button for your HUE lights right above your bed? Hayo can do that, too. On your furniture, in mid-air, in the middle of a room. Yes, Hayo’s virtual remote controls can be placed anywhere. It’s like using the force for your home.

Middle of the Night Moments
Have Hayo turn on the bathroom lights low if you get up at 2 AM.
Hayo works best where you and your family spend the most time at home, usually the kitchen or living room.
You only need 1 Hayo per room,
not one for each surface.
Hayo senses and synthesizes your unique context, passive motion, and proactive gestures to make the controls you create work. Over time, the system learns your behaviors and leverages AI to help meet your moment-to-moment needs automatically.
No cameras, no recording. Just sensing and acting.
Hayo’s performance is made possible by our suite of patented technology, software, and algorithms. Hayo sees and interprets space within its field of view thanks to advanced computer vision, which is used to reduce false positives and react only when a person interacts with the virtual remote controls or barriers. Any other motion outside this type of zone does not alter Hayo’s behavior.
Most 3D spatial technologies scan a person’s gestures and motion. Hayo takes the opposite approach: it scans your physical space and objects, taking action when a person comes in contact with that space or object in unique ways.
We are looking forward to collaborating with developers to inspire new ways of unlocking and fostering creativity for all users across contexts.
We have built a complete open API kit that will be available to technologists and tinkerers shortly after launch. Please get in touch with us here: developers@hayo.io.
We’re adding new platforms every day – if you don’t see your favorite platform here, please let us know at info@hayo.io!
In 2010, we found ourselves having a discussion with the lead designer of Minority Report’s interactive scenes and sequences. A few days later, we quit our jobs and started Space-Connect, the company behind Hayo.
We are Hayo. We empower people to create amazing shared experiences that improve our lives, only limited by our imaginations.
We are a very passionate team who has devoted nearly six years of research and development solely into crafting an amazing product. During all these years, we have done our best to refine Hayo, and minimize the risks before this campaign, in all possible ways.
As we go through the logistics of manufacturing in large scale, there is always a possibility of unforeseen events that could impact on our production time-frame. If an issue arises, we will continue to be transparent to our supporter, and honor the quality and expectations set for Hayo.
We fundamentally believe that technology can improve our lives and make them more fun. Through the growth of spatial imaging, augmented reality, and connected home platforms, we believe there is an opportunity to activate this belief with our product.
Hayo is fully functional and ready for market. We are asking for your contribution to manufacture the device in large scale, and get them into your hands: our early adopters and developers.
From there we can make Hayo even better, and reach the people around the word.
Do you still have questions or special requests? We will be happy to help.
Feel free to contact us at info@hayo.io, and we will respond as fast as possible.
Q. How does Hayo respect my privacy?
Hayo doesn’t capture or record images and we don’t use a microphone. The information we collect about your virtual control set-ups is only for you.
Images acquired by Hayo are processed within the camera only, on a one-time basis and deleted right afterwards. The only image that might leave the camera is when the alarm is triggered to send a picture to the user.
There are two cameras inside Hayo, a depth camera and an RGB (Normal camera). The depth camera is used in real-time, so no capture is performed. The RGB camera is only used during set up or, if the user chooses to trigger a picture capture for security.
Q. How do you create virtual controls?
Thanks to our Augmented Reality app, which will be available both on iOS and Android.
Q. What smart home devices can Hayo connect with?
You can connect to Sonos, Nest, Hue, Lifx, Roku, Chromecast and many more. Using Wink, IFTTT or Logitech Harmony, you can connect to more than 270,000 devices and services.
Q. How many virtual controls can I use at the same time?
You can use one virtual remote control at a time but can setup up to 15 for each Hayo device.
Q. Can I create customized controls?
Hayo lets you create three types of virtual remote controls. Buttons, barriers and sliders. You can interact with them as you like. No special gestures are required. Just create virtual remote controls and start playing with them.
Q. What happens if I move Hayo after scanning and setting up controls in my home?
Hayo remembers where you set up your controls and knows when you move it. So don’t worry if you do some spring cleaning and the shelf across the room is a better spot for Hayo – you won’t lose your controls.
Q. Can I set up and save profiles for different rooms in my home?
Yes, we think the best place for Hayo is where you spend the most time. Probably in the living room or kitchen. Maybe the bedroom, too.
Q. If I have more than one device, do they communicate to each other?
Yes, Hayo’s know when other Hayo’s are around and work with one another. So, if you have a huge room or one with a lot of weird angles, you may need more than one Hayo to get coverage. Not to worry: teamwork is essential with multiple Hayo’s, too!
Q. Can I be a beta tester?
We will invite a select group of the early bird supporters to become beta testers. This will be invite-only based on certain factors, such as age, geography and used cases. We’ll send a notice later this fall to allow for beta test submissions.
Q. Is there a warranty?
We offer a 30-day warranty for defective sensors and hardware. Just send your hurting Hayo back to us and we’ll replace your unit, free of charge.
Q. How can I reach out to your team?
We are developing a community portal on our website to get to know you! In the meantime, message us on Facebook and we’ll be sure to respond as soon as possible.
Q. Can you ship outside of the USA?
We will ship internationally, and shipping costs are automatically calculated when you pre-order.
