Business Description
Berries by Quicha was founded in February 2014, after a daunting career search in 2013. Who knew that as a single mom of three, graduating a Summa Cum laude I would have such a hard time finding a job after obtaining my BA in sociology, minored in Criminal Justice.
In order to generate some income, I sold chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day 2014. They were not your average chocolate covered strawberries. We had different flavors, colors and a variety of toppings. My family and I dipped over 50 dozen strawberries during this sweet heart season and orders continued to flow in after the holiday. It was amazing to put a smile on so many faces and make so many taste buds happy. The feeling was so surreal and I knew right then that selling uniquely dipped chocolate covered strawberries was my destiny! We opened our 1st location inside of the Best Western Plus Hotel within six months of our start.
Naturally I am a very creative person, so I was up for every “Berry” challenge that presented itself. From making chocolate covered strawberry Chicks for Easter, to chocolate covered strawberries in the shape of a purse for Mother’s Day, Berries By Quicha quickly made a name for itself in the city of Baltimore and surrounding counties. Whether it’s your company’s logo, a photo, or something else near and dear we have the ability to make it into a chocolate covered strawberry. We have had the pleasure of making custom chocolate covered strawberries for K. Michelle, Teyana Taylor, Rickey Smiley, Sinbad, Pandora, Under Armour, Amazon, Johns Hopkins hospital and Nordstrom’s just to name a few.
Now, two years later we are looking to expand into our second location. This loan is very significant because it’s our 1st, thus far we have operated solely on the revenue obtained from the business.
What is the purpose of this loan?
This loan will help Berries By Quicha to expand into our 2nd Location. In addition, to expanding we will be able to hire more employees, obtain interns ( to give them on the job training) get new equipment, and increase our marketing.
