Muchimba, standing in the back of the picture wearing the white coat, has been a community health worker in Kalonda at the rural health center for six years. He is 30 years old and was born and raised in Lusaka. His job is to counsel people on health issues and treat as many diseases as he can. His challenge is getting medication and paying for transportation when visiting patients.
He is married with two young children – one goes to school, the other stays at home with his wife.
He wants to buy a solar system because he is currently studying to be a doctor in the evenings. Candles give poor light and are both expensive and dangerous. He says the three bright lights and phone charging capacity of the solar system will change his life.
