Peace Love Float 4 Tusks

I’m turning 10 & I want to help stop the bloody ivory trade. Demand for ivory is destroying our elephants & they could be extinct in a generation. Extinction is forever. Please help me save elephants!

Elephants never forget…

Elephants never forget. Experts support this statement through many years of research which shows that elephants live in complex family units & form deep emotional connections. Can you imagine a planet without elephants? I never want to think about that. Instead, please spread the word and say “we will never forget elephants.”

Elephants cannot be replaced…

Did you know an elephant is slaughtered for its tusks every 15 minutes? Did you know 33,000 elephants are killed every year? Founder of Save the Elephants, Dr. Ian Douglas-Hamilton, said, “Elephants cannot be manufactured. Once they are gone they cannot be replaced.”

Peace Love Float for Tusks

My 10th birthday wish is for elephants to keep their tusks forever. My mommy & I researched how I could help make this happen and we learned about theElephant Crisis Fund (ECF) which is a global effort dedicated to saving our elephants now. The ECF directly benefits two respected elephant conservation groups, Save the Elephants & the Wildlife Conservation Network. 100% of donated funds to the ECF reach ECF partners in the field. Well then, what does floating have to do with tusks? I think floating on water causes a calmness & inner peace & so “Peace Love Float for Tusks” is my metaphor for peace on earth for elephants. After all, the Earth is covered in two thirds of water and elephants love to swim. So let’s “float” together & bring peace to all elephants by saving them from the face of extinction… Peace Love Float 4 Tusks!

Tie a knot & remember elephants

Tie a knot to remember. We must never forget the elephants and their struggle. On my 10th birthday I want to say #knotonmyplanet. I am asking my elephant-loving friends & family to donate my birthday gift to the ECF. It would make me feel amazing to know that money I helped raise contributed to fuel for an anti-poaching helicopter, or the care of an anti-poaching tracking dog, or a GPS elephant-tracking collar, or ivory DNA analysis, or a public service announcement promoting the ban on ivory. Remember the elephants by donating to the ECF through my Peace Love Float for Tusks campaign. I heard that your donation is tax-deductible. Float with me… Float for elephants…

Extinction is forever – donate here & get my art

I am working on my original “extinction is forever” themed-elephant art. In exchange for your donation, I will send you a giclée print of my art work. It is important to donate to the ECF through my page here so that I can keep track of my goal & so I can send you my art. Please know that your donation made here goes directly to the ECF through the Wildlife Conservation Network’s Paypal account. Every year I dedicate my birthday to an endangered animal on the brink of extinction. (See my Peace Love Hope 4 Rhinos campaign.) And, every year I try to raise my financial goal & every year you help make that happen! Because of you, I have learned that one little person like me can make a difference but only great things can happen when we come together or in this case “float” together. Thank you from the bottom of my elephant-loving heart…

Peace, Love, Elephants Forever,

Josie Martin :}
