The Certus Group exists to provide next-generation mobile computing software for rural hospitals to accomplish three things: increase hospital profitability, help save physicians time, and improve patient satisfaction. Our mission is to add financial strength to rural hospitals for the 54 million rural Americans who depend on them. Today’s smart phones and tablet devices offer us a generational departure from deskbound computing. The portability of these devices enables them to enhance our lives in ways a traditional personal computer never will. Sadly, while we enjoy this powerful new medium for entertainment it struggles find its way into hospitals, particularly in the 2000+ rural hospitals in the United States where it could serve a truly noble purpose.
OrderPad Windshield Edition is a timesaving solution for rounding physicians to use for convenient access to inpatient chart data. Physicians can use this app, provided by the hospital running on their servers, while onsite at the hospital or anywhere the doctors have internet access via a secure connection to the hospital’s network.
After a successful launch into the hospital market with Windshield Edition and perhaps CPOE, it may make sense to enter the ambulatory market by delivering a cloud-based mobile solution for electronic medical records to individual and group practices of healthcare providers. The market for such solutions is developing rapidly and broad adoption of such a cloud-based system could go a long way toward solving the dream of a unified patient record. By simply not having one of 300+ different brands of EHR in each clinic, two or three popular cloud products could easily integrate.
