Deadstock Network, Inc. is an internet start up company. Our niche is to provide industrial distribution companies a marketplace to liquidate their slow moving and obsolete inventory. All other auction and overstock sites are focused on consumers rather than on the industrial and business to business market. Our industry surveys indicated that most all distributors have a problem with dead and slow moving inventory. (see http://distributionteam.com/ for detail research). None of the survey participants had a successful process to liquidate excess inventory. Based on the above and my own experience as President of Amerisource Industrial Supply, I created internet sites www.deadstocknet.com and www.deadstocknetwork.com to market dead and slow moving industrial supplies.
The first site is a blog site designed to optimize search engine rankings based on Google keywords. The second site is the commercial site where customers can register, list items for sale and close product sales. We have over 160 users on the site and over 2000 products listed. New users and activity have remained constant at 225 visist per month and over a 1,000 page views. After the initial sign up of 3 janitorial maintenance buying groups growth has stagnated.
A comprehensive national marketing program must be conducted to increase awareness to the site for it to reach critical mass. When a critical mass has been reached the site will grow on its own. Revenue will be earned from commissions on sales, Google Ads and comarketing with Amazon and other commercial sites.
Investment funds are required to fund the development and execution of an effective national marketing campaign.
The product is an internet solution to establish a marketplace for slow moving and dead stock industrial inventory. Users can register, list and buy items for FREE. Commissions will only be paid on the sale of an item. Sellers will pay a 5% commission via credit card when they decided to view an order or offer from a buyer. Once the commission has been paid the buyer and seller are connected to conclude the transaction at mutually acceptable terms. Deadstock is not involved after the commission has been paid. Commissions are not refundable.
Earned a bachelors of Commerce from the University of Windsor in 1987. Won the board of Governors Medal as the top student in the business department. Received chartered Accountant designation in 1989, graduated 10th in Ontario.
My work experience started as an intern accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Toronto, Canada. Worked in many different areas of the firm, Audit, US Tax, Litigation Support and Business Valuations. In 1990, I went to work for PVS Chemicals, a Detroit based chemical distributor. I started in sales and ended my career in management.
On October 2, 1995, I left PVS and purchased Veterans Supply a small jan/san distributor in Hamtramck. Grew the business from $500,000 to a peak of 12.6MM in 2008. The business changed its name to Amerisource Industrial Supply in May 2004 after the acquisition of Michigan Glove & Safety.
