The veteran, multi-disciplinary team has combined their expertise in data science, digital health, and user engagement to develop a unique mobile-health platform which addresses one of the most attractive segments of the “Healthcare IoT” space, which Goldman Sachs estimates as a $30BN market.
Sweetch is a smartphone platform that leverages a unique diabetes prediction engine to produce a dynamic risk-meter, which interfaces with a custom, automated coaching regimen to guide users toward lowering their risk of developing diabetes in compliance with the “Diabetes Prevention Program” (DPP).
The DPP has proven to reduce the risk of developing diabetes by 58% in at-risk patients, but until now, there has been no way to predict who will become diabetic and when, nor has there been a way to engage those who qualify in a scalable way.
Sweetch is entering a pilot phase with Johns Hopkins, and upon successful completion will be positioned to distribute as a “prescription app.”
