Jesus’s story

Jesús, age 69, has shared his life with Laurencia for 40 years. They were not able to have children. They live in Monterrey. Jesús is experiencing a very difficult situation at this time because his wife is losing her vision. She urgently needs surgery in order to recover it.

He does not now have enough resources. He is retired and the sole support of his house. He cares for his wife in spite of the fact that in his last job he had an accident in the kitchen. A grinder crushed his hand. Even so, he tends to his house and cares for his wife. She is not able to see.

Jesús requested a loan to be able to pay for surgery for his wife so that she is able to recover her sight. This way she will have a better quality of life.

More about this loan

This loan is for a Kiva borrower to pay for medical treatment. Low-income families are often forced to sell family assets or resort to informal lenders in order to pay for unexpected medical bills. By providing these families with accessible financing, Alivio enables patients to, over time, pay their hospital bills and doctor’s fees, as well as to buy any medical equipment needed for their recovery.

Due to potential safety risks facing borrowers with health conditions and the need to protect their privacy, the faces of borrowers from Alivio Capital may be blurred in photos.
