Hi ! My name is Lorna Rodgers and I am a current foster carer and supporter of the Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue Inc. Please read my story below and support me on my run to keep the rescue running!
SABBR is a Not for Profit group based in Western Australia run entirely by volunteers who give their time and love to the rescue, rehabilitation, re-homing and responsible ownership of Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Bull Breed dogs. I have recently become involved in the rescue through becoming a foster carer to provide a loving home for dogs who have been abandoned by those they trust the most.
But there’s a problem
My current 8 year old foster dog, Cahto, recently had to undergo an emergency lifesaving surgery. He developed bloat, his stomach twisted 360 degrees and oxygen and blood flow was restricted to his vital organs. SABBR did not hesitate to go ahead with the surgery as they are devoted to giving each and every dog that comes into their care a chance at life and support them on their journey to discover what a loving environment feels like. The surgery cost $3,000 dollars, money which the rescue does not have but generously gave.
Here’s what I’m going to do about it
I aim to run in the WA’s marathons club half marathon on August 7th, 2016. I hope that by running I can raise enough funds to keep the rescue running. My aim is $4,000 which is about as ambitious as me running 21.1 kms !
Support me in my dash…
I hope that the generosity of the community which the rescue already relies heavily on can make my ambitions a reality.
As with any campaign every little bit counts and is appreciated by myself, the rescue and the boofas we love and support.
