Triple Tread® is an innovative, British engineered, upright tadpole tricycle with a patent pending steering mechanism.
Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004, founder Mark was unwilling to accept the use of traditionally designed mobility products.
Award winning Triple Tread® is designed with a focus on aesthetics, motivating users to exercise socially.
Traditional tricycles can tip over when cornering, making them dangerous and inaccessible for 10 million people with neurological or balance disabilities in the UK alone. Triple Tread have developed a design, capable of tilting naturally when riding, which would allow those people to participate in competitive sporting opportunities and make cycling more inclusive through both functionality, and style.
The team has also identified an opportunity for sales into the active ageing population.
Having recently been accepted as a showcase exhibitor at Innovate 2016 and with a patent application hoped to be approved as early as May 2017, Triple Tread® prototypes overcome the fundamental geometrical problems of traditional tricycles and are designed to be built with or without an e-motor. Funds are being raised to invest in initial stock and strengthen IP.
