I’m a Brooklyn girl with Caribbean roots and I love hot sauce, amazing food and great people. I was raised for a time by my grandparents – a farmer and his wife who gave me a deep respect for the process that brings ingredients from field to table. I remember washing vegetables to be taken to the market and the sights and sounds of vendors as they readied their bounty for those who passed by. I believe that food should create wonderful moments. It’s about family, friends, revelry and it’s those snippets of life at the table that truly excite me. The exuberance of Caribbean culture continues to feed my curiosity, creativity and maverick moments in the kitchen.
I’ve worked in both e-commerce & property management but no matter my position whether it be communications director or resolutions analyst I’ve always focused on client relations and the deep wonderful connections between people. I’ve also learned that it is undeniable the bond that can be created through food. It was because of my deep love for food experiences & hot peppers that I decided to follow my Caribbean spiked palate and start Bacchanal Sauce LLC. to highlight the taste, excitement, and revelry of a hot Caribbean fête. There was a deep need in the market for a delicious hot sauce, one that was not hot for the sake of being hot but wonderfully flavorful. My flagship product Bacchanal Pepper Sauce, is a unique, all-natural, vegan hot sauce full of exotic tropical flavor and the perfect amount of heat. I’ve expanded the line to include additional unique sauces, spicy tropical jams and distinctive island condiments. My goal is always to bring the buoyant richness of Caribbean food and culture both in the islands and in my Brooklyn community where Caribbean sights and sounds have become wonderfully woven into the New York cultural fabric. I’ve bootstrapped the business and grown it from product conception to brand recognition including online and wholesale sales.
