For those of you who knew and loved Joe Porfert, this may interest you. Earlier this year, Joe’s parents discovered a cache of his writing stretching from sometime after high school, through his escalating struggles, and ending shortly before his death last year. Some of the pieces are quite moving, and we have culled through these for the purpose of creating a literary portrait of someone who died too young.

QbyQ Press is an art book publisher. Art books are like art pieces, but in book form. QbyQ’s books are visual poetry. For this project, our goal is to print a poetry book that is beyond your everyday run of the mill. We envision a book that is akin to the author’s, to Joe’s, spirit. Collaborating closely with his parents and editor, Joe Jackson, we are sculpting the life and writing into memorabilia to take home with you.
Your donations will offset the costs of this book’s production. We’re all about transparency so here is the cost breakdown. The costs are subject to change. If there is any change, the difference will go either towards printing more books and/or a local non-profit that supports individuals struggling with addiction. The budget breakdown for printing 30 books.
