Binta is the smiling woman who is holding the ram’s horns in the group photo. Aged 59, she is married and the mother of six children. She has been raising animals and her husband has been farming for many years. She buys and sells her animals at the local markets, making up to 25,000 or 30,000 FCFA per month.
Binta is unable to transport her sheep to other locations and also struggles to feed them well as she lacks animal feed. To help solve these issues she is asking RMCR (a Kiva Field Partner) for a loan. The loan will enable her to grow her business and increase her earnings so that she can take care of her family.
She really enjoys raising livestock as it allows her to make a living, and she dreams of someday running a larger-scale husbandry business.
