Guyana born and NYC raised, I’m the only child of a single mother who worked all the time. There were days I didn’t see her because I was sleeping when she left in the morning and sleeping when she came home at night and on her day off she was so tired all she did was sleep. Growing up that way was tough but I learned to fend for myself and am deeply grateful for the sacrifices my mother made.
Today, I am a mother of two young boys and I plan to do things differently for them. I want to have the flexibility to go to their basketball games, take them on trips, and have dinner with them every night.
After the birth of my second son, I started pursuing my passion of handicrafts and dreadlock (loc) beads. A loc wearer myself, my loc beads and body jewelry reflect my passion, culture and fantasies of beauty. I’ve always loved to be adorned by beautiful things and had a strong desire to create them. Now I paint art on children and make them feel beautiful and confident. My work creates lasting memories for families everyday.
Expanding my business will give me the resources to spend more time with my family and enable me to create a better quality of life for them
