Founder Breanna Moore is a 2015 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International Relations and African Studies. After studying abroad in Ghana twice and falling in love with the Ankara fabric and Kente cloth LaBré was born.
Have you ever had the experience of wanting to pursue a dream and life got ahead of you? As a recent graduate, I believe in the urgency of now to use my skills to pursue my dreams. We all have a higher purpose for our lives to make a positive impact during our limited time here on earth. One route I seek to do this is through LaBré.
As of June 2015, 6 of the world’s top 13 fastest growing economies are in Africa. LaBré wishes to contribute to this growth through investment into Ghana to generate business opportunities that lead to economic prosperity. LaBré is committed to eliminating poverty and unemployment by creating more jobs in Ghana.
Meet our team of designers, seamstresses, and tailors in Ghana!
As you may know, if a Kickstarter campaign’s financial goal isn’t met, the project won’t be funded. So it really is all or nothing!
By backing this campaign, you are purchasing the CUSTOM experience. Our official online store launches in July but only you, our Kickstarter backers, will get to choose from several gorgeous patterns for your custom fitted item.
I’m truly grateful to all of you for helping us to bring the LaBré vision and mission to life! Thank you for your support, your generosity, and your encouragement!
Some of our most common challenges include shipments which can take up to a week and a half to arrive from Ghana. With $10,000 towards our project, we’ll be prepped to meet these issues head on. You will be able to choose your size(s), cloth design(s), and fabric(s) when the Kickstarter campaign concludes and all the payments are processed. We will be sending out surveys and look book guides so you can customize your items. We expect to begin delivery in September, but October is when we expect completion. All of our backers will receive weekly updates via email starting at the close of the campaign. We will keep you informed! We work with love and will treat your rewards with care. If you have any size or quality issues, we will be easy to reach and happy to complete exchanges!
