Keur Gane Group’s story

This group of eight members is part of the ‘banc villageois’ that was created in December 2009. It is composed of women with a lot of solidarity who are active in commerce and in raising livestock.

NAR, standing at the right in the photo, is the featured borrower. She is 37 years old, married, and the mother of five boy and four girls. She has been active in raising livestock and has a lot of experience in this domain.

With her new loan, she intends to purchase 2 head of cattle, which she will fatten and then resell at the weekly market near her village.

The profits will be used to help out her husband in covering family expenses and to put toward savings at the ‘banc villageois’.
